Unlike many who decide to run for public office, my life story isn’t one of glamorous beginnings or a spoon-fed childhood.
My dad was a public school janitor, and my mom is an immigrant who worked as a homemaker.
When I lost my father at age 14, I worked part-time after school and on weekends at the Air Force Base market as a bagboy, doing anything I could to help us make ends meet.
It was from this that I learned the meaning of hard work, which I carried with me through college, through UCLA Medical School, through the Marine Corps, and now in my day to day practice as a cancer doctor.
I was able to turn humble beginnings into a life of accomplishments and service.
And now, I know that this same drive and determination can turn around challenging circumstances here in Oregon, too!
Our state can go from one that is struggling under crime, homelessness, poor education, and other challenges to one that is thriving and where citizens are safe in their communities.
But there’s one critical component necessary to complete Oregon’s turnaround — dedicated supporters like YOU.
So thank you for supporting my campaign, for being there for my family throughout the last several years, and for making the commitment to our great state.

Bud Pierce is deeply disturbed by the homelessness crisis in Oregon. His solution involves addressing the underlying mental health and drug issues, affordable housing, increasing public shelters, teaching real-life job skills, and bringing an end to the enabling of self destructive behaviors.

Bud Pierce is saddened that Oregon students currently suffer one of the poorest performing K-12 education systems in the country. He understands that we need a non-political oversight board to look after education in the state and not rely so heavily on partisan, career politicians.
